Nick Syfret has been inspired in the course of his travels by the wonderful objects and designs he has seen:
Iznik plates in museums in Lisbon and Turkey; the tiles of the mosques of Asia; rugs and embroidery throughout.
These objects invite adaptation into pictorial designs. Nick begins each painting with a pencil design,using thereafter acrylic paint which allows the designs to be adjusted and developed in the course of the painting.
