Aquatint workshop:

This course investigates techniques fundamental to aquatinting, over three session. Key concepts will be demonstrated and supported with historical examples to guide students in the creation of light and tone by combining aquatint with sugar lift, burnishing and drypoint techniques.

About the Tutor:

Robert is a full-time artist with over 40 years experience of making in a variety of media including painting, print, and ceramics. His prints have been exhibited internationally and has run many courses over this time in printmaking methods including monotype, linocut, and drypoint.

Times:

Saturday afternoon 14:00-16:00 on the 11th Oct, 25th Oct, and 1st Nov

Please read the following:

  • The course assumes participants are familiar with plate preparation and line etching.
  • Reference images will be provided but please also bring along your own drawing equipment, and inspiration as well.
  • One zinc plate (100 x 150mm) and one large piece of paper (approximately 8 printable pieces based on plate size) will be included. More paper and plates will be available to purchase on site through the Caversham Print Club.
  • You must be 16 years of age or older to attend.
