Guest Tutor: Cath Baldwin
Class topic: Lino printmaking

Ideal for those with some knowledge of lino cutting who wish to explore new ways to broaden their practice.

During this one-day workshop we will explore how the addition of colour to a print can dramatically alter it’s visual impact. Using a blended gradient of coloured inks to produce a first layer we will then overprint with our individually carved landscape inspired blocks to produce a small edition of dynamic printed images.

There will also be an opportunity to experiment with masks, paper stencils and collage.

You will also learn how to produce a suitable design, to transfer it to the block, to safely use carving tools to produce a series of lines and textures, and how to ink up and successfully print.

You will finish the day with a series of coloured printed images and a carved lino block to take away and continue experimenting with.
