Date and Time: Sunday, 10:00-17:00 14th Jun
Guest Tutor: Isabel Carmona
Class topic: Sketching around Caversham

Workshop:

Spend the day drawing outdoors in Caversham and Reading with Isabel – explore different observational sketching techniques from line to watercolour washes that will allow you to feel confident to go out and sketch on your own or with your local group.

We will meet at Caversham Print Club at 10am and talk about materials and locations for the day. We will then go out, splitting the day in two sessions, with a short break for lunch: (1). Line drawing (11:00-13:00); (2). Watercolour and line drawing (14:00-16:00). Afterwards we will gather again at the Caversham Print Club to share our sketchbooks together.

About the Tutor:

I am a painter and printmaker based in Newbury, West Berkshire. An avid sketcher, I take my sketchbook everywhere, it is my happy place, as stopping to look and draw allows stories and anecdotes to develop of which I am reminded of later when developing other paintings or printmaking work. In 2021 IsabeI received a Developing Your Creative Practice Arts Council Grant to develop her multiplate collagraphy , the results of which can be seen in her Instagram @isacarmona-art.

Please read the following:

  • No experience needed.
  • Bring with you your preferred drawing kit; such as pens, watercolours and brushes, water container, tissues, fine liners (0.5mm minimum thickness and 0.8mm or brush tip are good).
  • Sketchbooks will be provided.
  • A Stool/Camp Chair is recommended but not necessary.

[The Caversham Picture Framer is selling tickets on behalf of Isabel Carmona]
