An introduction to lino printing.
Perfect for those new to lino cutting or for those wishing to explore its possibilities.
You will learn how to produce a suitable design and then how to transfer it to the block, how to safely use carving tools to produce a series of lines and textures, how to ink up and successfully print. You will then explore how a design is impacted by the choice of paper colour and ink to produce a series of finished prints.
You will finish the day with a series of printed images and a carved lino block to take away and continue experimenting with.
About the Tutor:
Cath Baldwin is a well- known local artist and educator who has been making and exhibiting work for over 20 years. Primarily, her art practice focuses on the many forms and possibilities of print, with a particular interest in making printmaking more accessible to others. Cath spent many years teaching at local schools, colleges and universities and uses the knowledge gained by continuing to deliver workshops and private tuition.Times:
