Description: Men at Lunch, 2009. Men relax round a taverna table at Hydra harbourside, with the composition enlarging space and interest within a sun-drenched setting as they crowd into the shade. The broken awning’s cables are used to half-reveal something like a theatre set of colourful rustic buildings along the cobbled street, Sketched underpinnings to the bright paint allow a blocky effect which conveys the harshness of the midday sun glancing off the scene.
