This hands-on workshop is a beginner-friendly introduction to etching, one of the most versatile printmaking techniques. You will learn how to prepare a plate, apply a wax ground, and ink and print your work. Through a range of mark-making techniques, you will explore line, texture, and how to build an image through the etching process. By the end of the session, you will have created and printed your own original designs. Suitable for complete beginners or anyone wanting to try printmaking for the first time.
Please note: If you would like to work from your own images, sketches, or photographs (either physical or digital), please bring them along to the workshop. We also recommend wearing clothing you don’t mind getting a little messy.
