Description: Hedgerow II, 1981. This rare steel etching from Coulouris’ early Scottish oeuvre adventurously uses colour inks to depict humble hedgerow plants in an unusually magnified, foregrounded way, emphasising their fragility as the winter sun shines through them. Such vulnerable natural elements are strikingly juxtaposed with the exploitation of oil and other industrial successes in works such as Scotland’s Oil (1977)
